A plain rectangular building on the east Side of the Village of strathkinness kept as a Preaching Station for the accommodation of that part of the inhabitants who are members of the established church There is in it about 250 sittings and is attended by an average number of 200 The officiating minister is one from the Ph [Parish] Church of St. Andrews who attend there regularly each Sabbath, There is also a school Kept in it on week days when the children of both sexes are taught the ordinary branches of an English education the average number of pupils attending are 70, The master (Mr. Peattie) derives his salary from a portion of land given as an endowment to a school in strathkinness, by one of the Melvilles of Mountmelville at some former period together with school fees from the pupils It is therefore a School & Preaching Station.
