This was formerly the principal road to St. Andrews from the West. It was by this road Archbishop Sharp was travelling on the day of his murder, and from this circumstance obtained its present name. Now it is planted with trees and never used.

On this farm are the Bishop's Road, and Gullins' Tomb. The Farm is tenanted by Robert Hean, and proprietor is John Whyte Melville of Mount Melville
