A small agricultural village near the southern extremity of the parish of Creich, situated in a narrow pass between two hills, the road to Brunton and Creich passing through it. It is composed of a number of dwelling houses, farm steadings and a corn mill etc. the parish church is situated in the north end of the village; the parish school is also situated in it - the most of the houses are in good repair, two stories high and slated, and are for the most part fews held of David Cook Esq. of Carphin. |
