A large mass of sandstone rock near the west end of Glen Vale I have not been able to ascertain how it got the name but it is probable preachings may have taken place at it at a former period.

016 [situation] 1 1/4 miles N.E. by E. [North East by East] of Glenvale farm house.
A high Hill or mountain supposed to be 1721 feet above the sea level its sides are steep and on the top is a Trig. [Trigonometrical] Station and remains of a Cairn. The view from the summit of this hill is very extensive. It may be as well to mention that the inhabitants generally call this Hill West Law.
