| BATTLEAXE AND METAL VESSELS FOUND HERE | 016 | [Situation] 1 Mile N.W. by W [North West by West] of Edentown SSE [South South East] of the above farm yard were found in the corner of a field when trenching about 30 years ago metal vessels, a head of a battle axe etc. Supposed to have been Roman and are now in the possession of Sir Archibald Hope, Pinkie House, Musselborough. Several other items of Antiquity connected with the Battle of Meralsford are supposed to have been deposited in Pinkie House. There is not any remarkable features in or about the field where these objects were found. |
