The Site of this Cairn is about 14 chs. [chains] NE [North East] from Nether Pitlochie its site was pointed out by Mr William Blythe the resident tenant.
In Smalls Antiquities page
"82 it is stated that when this was
opened a good many years ago there
were found Several rude Stone Coffins
full of burnt ashes pieces of bones
Some beads etc. The beads were
Considerably large of a yellowish
Amber and Some of a blackish
Color which I suppose had belonged
as ornaments to the Romans"

Note: Site of Cairn - In page 43 Archaeologia Scotica by Col [Colonel] Miller it is stated
"Farther west at G a vast Cairn Stood until
about 42 years ago and there the last Stand
of the Caledonians in a body seems to have been
made. Upon Removing this Cairn many bones were
found and great quantities of Iron Many of
the pieces very small So as to be called Knives
and forks by the workmen.
"Great numbers of beads were
also found in this Cairn and distributed about
the Country as Curiosities
