016 [Situation] 1⅞ Miles S.W. [South West] of Edentown
There is not any doubt that a Cairn existed here in former times the farmer on whose land it is or was informed me that it is surprising, it bears such Crops Considering the quantity of Small Stones yet remaining underneath the surface and he further States that when the Crops are pretty well up the Site of the Cairn can easily be distinguished from the peculiar Color of grass Oats etc as the Case may be. Doctor Small Considers that the dead were burnt here.

Note: This (Cairn, Site of) is Situated N.W. [North West] of the Westfield of Edenshead about 12 chains and about 750 links on the north side of the Turnpike Road between Strathmiglo & KInross
