A small hill of arable surface on the Estate of Balcarres, it is of an oval shape and on its summit is a stripe of plantation. In one of the trees is a Trig. [Trigonometrical] Station called by Trig [Trigonometrical] Party "Knockhill in T". In Sibbalds Hist. [History] of Fife P358 "Kilbrackmount" is mentioned as a mansion house belonging to a gentleman named Hamilton which stood near this hill and possibly gave rise to the present name.
