017 [situation] On Down's Law about 2 1/3 Miles E. by S. [East by South] of the Village of Kettle.
This is the remains of an Ancient British Fort. It is at present of an Oblong form tho it is supposed to have been at one time Circular. It Stands on the Summit of Downs Law and is now much destroyed on account of the place being [ploughed] up.
