Page 414 New Stat [DStatistical] Account "At Balbee a mile and a half eastward there existed a Structure somewhat similar it was taken down about 60 or 70 years ago, and portions of the fine hewn freestone of which it was built may still be seen in some of the walls in the neighbourhood." The above is confirmed by Mr David Watt an intelligent old gentleman who is about 85 years of age he recollects his father taking down the remains of the Tower which he states was a square building the stones of which were used for building walls or fences etc. Mr Watt from his having seen the Tower when a boy can point out its site with accuracy. |
