In the north west part of the Parish of Aberdour 54 chains south east of Cuttlehill.
A small Village, on the estate of the Earl of Moray, occupied by Colliers; until of late date it was known as "Dirt Hill" but the house being removed which gave rise to that name it is now known as Donibristle.

An unendowed school, in the Village of Donibristle, having an average attendance of about 80 Scholars. It is chiefly for the education of the Colliers' children, the Fees being all the teacher has to depend on.
