A small arable eminence, on the farm of Foulford, on the summit of the eminence are two Ironstone Mines, which are working Pits at present. N.B. I learn from Enquiry that the term "Mine" is applied when in the form of a gallery driven into the face of the Rock, and Pit to a Sunk Shaft. |
