In the village of Carnock | A moderate sized house, of modern date, with a small front & back garden, the residence of the Rev[eren]d A B Douglas, Established Church Minister for Carnock Parish. This house stands on the same site as the former Manse in which dwelt the celebrated John Row, the first Pastor of this Parish -- his eldest son was born in the same house and wrote the Historie of the Estate of the Kirk of Scotland; the younger son became principal of Kings College Aberdeen & was a man of great learning. |
