About 35 Chains S[outh] E[ast] of Green Nap. A Steep rocky Precipice partly covered with Brushwood, Gorse, Scattered Roicks and Furze on the South side of Glassieburn. There is a tradition here that at the time the Romans were enca, per on Camp Bank an opposing Force were stationed on Glassieburn, above the Castle Craigs, but from the nature of the ground the place was deemed sufficiently defective without any work being thrown up. There does not appear to be any remains on the Hill and no one in the neighbourhood ever heard of a Castle on it.
