About 40 Cahins N[orth] N[orth] W[est] of Leckerstone. | A good dwelling house with outbuildings Garden and a small patch or ornamental ground attached, the residence of the Proprietor. Mr Telfer says that in removing some rubbish from a place (near his house) which is now a sandpit, about 40 years ago, there were several Urns turned up by the workmen and allowed by them to be removed to Dunfermline in the absence of the Proprietor. Some of them contained ashes and he has no doubt that they were Roman. |
