032 A small neat building on the N.side of the village of Coaltown chiefly supported by the Coalworks that people with large families might educate their children at a trifling expense. Every man engaged on the works has to pay 1d per week + lads 1/2. And Mr. Wemyss gives all books stationary (?) also finds schoolroom, House + Garden, Coals in for the master each pupil pays 2d per week to the master but if more than 3 at one family attend the others are educated gratuatously. At present there are 60 Boys + 49 girls daily attending school
