This School was founded by a bequest made by the late Adam Rolland of GasK there are about 180 scholars. almost of the worKing classes taught the branches of an ordinary English education fees on an average about 2/6 per quarter, The school is under the management of the Magistrates and Council of Dunfermline who by a late arrangement with the Burgh Creditors hold hold it as trustees for the institution, At one time about 50 poor children were taught at it. on the interest of a sum of £1000, but the money not having been invested by the magistrates (who were the trustees) was lost at the time the town's affairs got into embarrassment -
