An office in which all the public documents belonging to the burgh of Cupar is kept. It consists of the two upper flats of a building three stories high. the ground or under one is the guild hall the second or middle (the one shown on Trace) is divided into four Small apartments and used as Town Clerks office, while in the apartment above is Kept the Subscription Library. this Room & the Town Clerks office are the private property of the late Provost Nicol, and are merely rented by the Magistrates for £10. annually. - the Magistrates having a right to purchase this place should they at any time deem fit to pay the [post] cost of it.
