A small parish in the county of Fife, bounded on the southeast by the Frith of Forth, on the northeast by the parish of Dysart, on the northwest by Dysart and Auchterderran, and on the southwest by the parish of Abbotshall. It is of an oblong shape about 2 miles in length from north to south, and scarcely in any place more than three fourths of a mile in breadth from east to west. On its coast is the Royal Burgh of Kirkcaldy for which see descriptive remarks in an adjoining page.
Two small detached portions of the parish of Abbotshall is situated within this parish, but no part of Kirkcaldy is situated within any other parish.
