A plain stone building standing between High Street & the Sea the East end forming the H.W. [High Water] mark. It was built by public subscription in 1843 for the Free Church party was afterwards purchased by the members of the Established Church & is now Quoad Sacra to the Parish of Kirkcaldy. There are 750 sittings all free. The Ministers Salary is £70 per annum

An open space on the East side of High Street, sloping fro the street to H.W. [High Water] mark, it derived its name from the gate called East Port being situated at its southern extremity.
