A farm and offices with a suitable dwelling house occupied by John Philipp and property of Earl of Murray. This farm was occupied by succeeding generations who were Grieves or Stewards to the proprietor. The dwelling house was for a long period occupied as an Inn. Mr. Greig says that it has been handed down from Father to Son that Cromwell halted a night at the Inn.
