The Author of Waverley in the Abbot has immortalised these rocks "A romantic dell well known by the name of Keirie Craigs" and when speaking of a long established Custom he says "Attractions of a kind Very different from those which arrest the progress of John Auchtermuchty and his Wains Still Continue to hover round the romantic spot, and none has ever visited its vicinity without a desire to remain long and to return Some day. |
