010 | [Situation] About 1 1/2 miles N. by E. [North by East] from Haddington. The remains of an encampment on the Eastern extremity of the Kae Heughs. It is said to have been of Roman construction. The north side is bounded by a steep precipice and on the South and W. [West] sides there are several artificial terraces and mounds of earth and stones enclosing a flat rocky space of ground of a Triangular form, The entrance from the west can easily be traced, thro' [through] 3 mounds which extends Southward fr. [from] the edge of the precipice, The Eastern end has been destroyed. the rock having been quarried out from time to time, |
