010 | The ruins of chapel which belonged to the abbacy of Haddington, situated on a gentle eminence, at the eastern extremity of the suburb of the Nungate. although its structure bears evident marKs of antiquity, it has been rather a substantial than an elegant building, measuring in length about 60 feet, by 15 wide, and has the principal entrance from the east The Churchyard, in which this ruin stands contained some very ancient monuments which have been destroyed or delapidated. In 1832 several persons who died of cholera, were interred on the north side of the ruin, since then it has not been used a as burial ground. |
