In it is the parish Church, Free United Presbyterian Church, 3 schools, and a number of public houses grocers shops, etc. Population about 2000, consisting of mechanics, colliers, Agricultural Labourers, etc. The village is the property of John Cadell Esqr. of Cockenzie. |
