(exclusive of the church) situated?
Can you point out the site?

There was a Dominican
monastery in Haddington. Can
you point out the identical
or probable place where
this house stood?

Can you point the site
of St John's Chapel in Hadding-
-ton?

Can the site of St Lawrence's
Chapel (which I understand
stood somewhere about the hamlet
of St Lawrence House) be pointed
out?

What is your opinion
Concerning the belief of
the birthplace of John Knox
being in Haddington?
See Miller's History of Haddington
page 521.

Your answer on the mar-

I cannot.

Since writing the
above I find a statement in
Millers History that there was
Chapel dedicated to St John which
he states probably belonged to the
Templars a house belonging as
Tradition has it to their order
stands near the custom stone

I think there can be little doubt
after considering the arguments
on both sides that he was born in
Gifford parish of Haddington
