012 A handsome modern built Mansion three storeys high and in good repair with out offices and an extensive & well wooded Domain also a large garden attached this house is built upon the site of Dunglass Castle, it is surmounted by an octagonal turret with windows in each side which commands an extensive and splendid view of the Surrounding country the house is pleasantly situated on the top of a very steep Sloping bank which falls down to Dunglass Burn the property and residence of Sir J. Hall.

012 A small piece of land within Dunglass Domain a little to the S.E. [South East] of the old Church. J. Hall Esqr. my informant could not say how it got this name but Supposed that it had some connection with the old Church as being a piece of ground belonging to that Venerable fabric
