A small cave in a freestone rock, at the west end of Dunglas demesne, traditionally said to have been used by the fairies for the purpose which its name imports. This superstitious tradition has probably arisen from the mouth of the cave having a begrimed and smoky appearance. It is about 10 feet from the ground. |
