This is said to be the Site of an Ancient Chapel, attached to which was a Graveyard. It was used by a party of Friars Connected with Melrose Abbey, who were established here. It is on the Farm of Millknowe

This is said to be the Site of an ancient graveyard which was attached to a Small chapel. It is on the Farm of Millknowe. There has been Several boards, coffin handles etc ploughed up here; there has also been found Several beads and other Small articles. Some of the Beads are in Mr. Darling's possession.

Graveyard [note] There is not Sufficient Authority to prove as a certainty that this Chapel and grave yard ever existed, it is therefore necessary to write it as an uncertainty. The spot however, is generally believed in the country to have been the Site of the chapel.
