016 A succession of Villas, many of them of very elegant design, on the southern shore of the parish near the entrance to Loch Long. there are a United Presbyterian Church a post office several shops and near the eastern extremity there is an excellent Wooden Pier at which Steamers call at all states of the tide. The name is derived from a small farm of the name a short distance NE [North East] from the Pier.
The name applies from the farm steading westward to the road leading to Craigrownie Church.
