016 | A large building finely situated a short distance north from Rosneath and presently occupied as a farm house by Mr. Campbell. The southern part of it is all that remains of an ancient building formerly occupied by the ancestors of the present Duke of Argyll. An avenue of old yew trees of great beauty leads from it to the old Church. This is the "Easter House" referred to in the New Stl. Acct. [Statistical Account], but it is not known by this name in the locality. |
