BOARD CRAIGS | Board Craigs Board Craigs Board Craigs Board Craigs |
Captain Murray Gartshore G. Buchanan Hillhead William Stewart Eastertown John Cross Gartshore |
025 | This name is well known but there is little if any Craigs to be seen in the embankment to which the name applies, from about 9 chains from the west margin line of this Trace to the eastern extremity on Trace 6 25-2. With the exception of some out crops of whinstone east of the Old Quarries, about the middle of the Slope which is really the object to which the name applies, there is nothing whatever of a craggy appearance visible; but the bank is known to be rocky beneath the surface. The Board Craigs stand in a plantation on Gartshore Estate the property of Captain Murray Gartshore. |
GARTSHORE SCHOOL | Gartshore School Gartshore School Gartshore School |
Captain Murray Gartshore G. Buchanan Hillhead William Stewart Eastertown John Cross Gartshore |
025 | This School is endowed from the Proprietors of Gartshore & holds seats for about 150 children. The Proprietor of Gartshore is desirous of retaining the name of the Estate to the School, and it is invariably called "Gartshore School". |
