020 | This comprises a couple of Kilns for burning limestone, a Pit & a Mine, and a dwelling house occupied by some of the Lessee's Workmen. The whole is situated on the banks of the "Red Burn", in "Dunn's Wood". Limestone has been wrought here for a considerable time - more than 30 Years, under the Name of the "Castlecary Lime Works". Altogether, there are about 50 persons employed about the Works, & the place & name are well known in the Country surrounding. Captain Fleming of Cumbernauld is the Proprietor. |
