A farmhouse with Garden and small farm of land attached, there is also a number of Cottages and Gardens immediately adjoining that bear the same name. This is a place of great antiquity, the family of the Wilsons who still occupy this farm have posessed it from about the 13th century

This castle stood about 3 or 4 chains to the north of the present Cockpool, no date of its erection can be given but it existed in the year 1553 from a tradition in the family of the Wilsons that there was a great tide. which inundated the Cockpool houses that year and the inhabitants sought for shelter in the Castle it is also stated that the stones of this castle were taken to build the Castle of Comlongon, when the field is under cultivation the plough sometimes strikes upon the foundation stones
