Near to this Castle (Morton) was a Park, built by Sir Thomas Randolph Earl of Murray , on the face of a of a very great high hill, So artificially that, by the advantage of the hill, all Wild beasts, Such as Deer, Harts, Roes and Hares, did easily get in, but Could not get out again and if any other Cattle, Such as Cows, Sheep or Goats , did Voluntarily leap in, or were forced to it, it is doubtful whether their owners were permitted to get them out again,

Sir Thomas kept the Castle of Morton during the minority of David Bruce,
The Park fence Can still be traced with, with a very small exception on the south side.
