There is no Historical information, known respecting it, excepting, that it formerly, belonged to the Johnstones of Annandale, and that probably it was used as a watch tower, in the time of the Rebellion. The escutcheon of the Johnstones is still to be seen on the North side of the building. Attached, is a good dwelling house, offices, etc, the residence is a good property of Mr John Edgar Dickson.
