016 A neat cottage with garden attached, there was at former times a piece of land round this place that was called Egypt; and the house is sometimes called by that name.
Note. The late General Johnstone who distinguished himself in several engagements in Flanders and Egypt in 1801, gave to several houses then being built distinctive names of Countries and Towns where he sojourned during these campaigns hence Egypt in this particular instance.
