On the East side of Shakespeare Street A neat plain building erected in 1790 by a Company of Shareholders at a cost of about £2000 the shareholders are at present about 17 in number. It is generally let 3 or 4 months in winter time to a company of actors. It is capable of accommodating an Audience of about 500 arranged as follows Lower boxes 100 Upper boxes 50 Pit 150 Gallery 200. The shareholders have the privilege of being admitted free on showing a silver ticket which each member holds. |
