A rough unhewn stone, 6 feet long, 3 wide, & 2 deep, lying horizontally in a field near Gappock mill. It commemorates the spot where one Smith was shot during the persecution. It is without date. & merely bears the inscription "W. Smith."
Supposed to have been placed here immediately subsequent to the period of the persecution.
