DUNSCORE (Parish of) James III.- It was of considerable height but very narrow, the last inhabitant of which was the noted Grierson of Lag.- On an Islet in Loch Urr there are visible remains of a Castle, traditionally reported in the district to have been fortified by rebels. There are however no historical facts whereby to judge of its occupancy or date. - See Page 79.-
