041 [Situation] In the Graveyard of Dunscore Old Church.
Within a Small & crumbling Stone enclosure, in the Old Churchyard of Dunscore lies interred the Mortal Remains of Sir Robert Grierson, Commonly known as the 'Laird of Lag', He was a Zealous magistrate in the times of the second Charles, & James his unfortunate brother, so much so indeed, that his name is execrated all over Scotland, many gross Cruelties are laid to his charge, The following would now be sworn by hundreds in this district.
