A Stream formed by the confluence of a number of drains issuing from two bogs. The lower one is situated immediately behind the Throughgate, and the upper one is about quarter of a mile distant to the South east, on the farm of Lochenlee. The Stream receives its name in consequence of passing through Several farms having the name of Laggan. It obtains the name of Laggan Burn from the Confluence of two small Streams at the Throughgate & retains it until it joins the Nith.
