A handsome And well Constructed building 3 Storeys high erected in 1826 by a Company or Association of Shareholders, the Management being vested in a Committee and Treasurer Chosen from the Members The Members are Chiefly gentlemen of independent fortune who occasionally assemble here at public dinner or public occasions in time of a Cattle Shew &c &c. The lower Apartments of the building are appropriated to the dwelling of the Caretaker And to lumber, - the middle Storey which is level with the Street is the Ball-room or room of assembly And in Connection with which there are other appropriate apartments, Such as Ladies dressing & Gents dr. [dressing] The Ball-room is often let for public lectures Balls &c.
