The Site of the principal Gateway or Port which led to And from the Town on the South Side through the fortification wall and was the high road which led to the South.- This gate stood across the road which is now St. Michael St. near the S.W. [South West] corner of the Churchyard.- It was demolished about the middle of the Eighteenth Century About the time when the Hospital was built. -
