THREE PIKED STANE Three Piked Stane (Supposed site of Druidical Temple) Revd [Reverend] John Anderson Minister Dornock
James Rae Laborer Stapleton
063 [Situation] On the boundary between Dornock and Annan

A large stone about 3 feet long 2 feet wide, and about 1 foot thick; built into a bank a little to the west of Upper Woodhead, it is said to contain three holes, and that to that circumstance it owes its name. There are no holes visible on the exposed side, the other side is completely built up, so I could not ascertain whether it contained any holes or not.
From the appearance and size of several stones built into banks near this place, it is quite evident that they have been removed from the Druidical Temple said to have been on this spot.
DRUIDICAL CIRCLE (Remains of) [Three Piked Stane] 063 From the appearance and size of several stones built into banks near this place, it is quite evident that they have been removed from the Druidical Temple said to have been on this spot.
ST MARJORY'S CROSS (Remains f) 063 "The stone in which a wooden cross formerly stood, also, still remains; it was called St Marjory's Cross, to whom tradition says, the church itself was dedicated." (The parish church) The Three Piked Stone, is the stone referred to in the above quotation.
