A large Farm house and Outhouse stated and in good repair formerly Known by the name of Bailie Knowe and is the property of Constable Maxwell of Nithsdale. Bailies Knowe is the name generally applied by the inhabitants of the district and was the only name formerly, the Proprietor's factor gives the name North Kirkblain. See South Kirkblain Pages 12.

A small burn about 2 1/2 links wide and forming the boundary between Kelwood farm and Kilblain North and taking its course along the Parish Boundary between Dumfries and Carlaverock.
