A Considerable Stream having its source at the "Blough Wells" and running in a Southerly direction for about five or six miles falls into the "River Esk"near "Fordsbraehead" This name is applied to it from the confluence of Tomshiel Burn and Hawknest Lake, to its junction with the above river.
