127.13 A chain of hills extending from Bridge of Allan in a northeasterly direction & Abernethy on the Firth of Tay. The south-east side of the range is steep and, in many places, rocky and precipitous. The descent towards the northwest is gentle. The highest point if Bencluch, 2560 feet, lies partly in this parish and partly in the parish of Alva. James Johnstone, Esq, of Alva House, is the proprietor of this portion within this parish.
