140.05 | A boulder stone about eighteen inches square, placed near the cross in Clackmannan. Tradition says that King Robert Bruce at one time lost one of his gloves, and that affer some time it was found on this Stone, which, in consequence, was preserved, first in Clackmannan Tower, and afterwards at the Cross in the town. In 1825 a large stone about eighteen feet long was brought from Abbey Craig and set up on end, King Robert's Stone being placed on its top for better preservation, where it is at present. |
