139.03 A small village or hamlet on the River Devon, near the confluence of that river with the Forth. The houses are partly one, and partly two storeys in height, all slated, and in good repair. There are in it two small grocer shops, one public-house, and a post office. There is a distillery and a brewery here, both of which are carried on extensively, and give employment to most of the male inhabitants of the village. Property of Lord Abercromby, Airthry Castle.
